When I first worked with Britta, I had high hopes; but they didn’t compare to what actually happened. I couldn’t recommend her enough.

Frequently asked questions
What is a sample edit and what is it for?
A sample edit gives you an example of my editing style and gives me an idea of your writing style. I will edit a 1,000-word section of your manuscript according to the level of editing you request.
What if my manuscript is a short story?
In the case of short stories (or any work under 30k words), a sample edit will be limited to a paragraph or two.
Why do you charge per word?
I charge by the word because that gives both of us a fixed cost.
What if I decide to work with a different editor?
The most important thing is finding an editor you click with, and whose style matches yours. If it isn't me, please just let me know.
What does a sample edit look like?
The sample edit usually consists of a 1,000-word excerpt from the middle of your manuscript.
I use the industry-standard of Tracked Changes in Microsoft Word. I will make my edits and suggestions in a Word document, and you will be able to go through each change and accept or reject it.
Should I get sample edits from multiple editors?
Requesting sample edits from a few different editors is always a good idea. You should have them edit the same excerpt from your work so that you can see the differences in style and approach that each editor has. This will enable you to find the editor whose work you like and feel best compliments your writing.
